Lesson ten word 1-5

1. solve  v. [T] to find a way to deal with a problem or situation 解決; 解答 solution  n. [C, U] 解決的方法;解決 The conflict between the two countries was solved peacefully. I spent a whole morning trying to solve the math problems. The company is seeking solutions to its financial crisis.

2. patent  n. [C] an official document that gives someone the right to    sell his or her invention or product for a period of time, and prevents other people from doing so 專利;專利權
patent v. [T] 為……取得專利
Alexander Graham Bell received a patent for
his version of the telephone in 1876.
The first computer mouse was patented in
1963.

3.  agreement  n. [C] an arrangement or a
decision to do something, made by two or
more people, organizations, countries, etc. 
議; [U] the situation in which people have
the same opinion on something
意見一致
agree v. [I, T] 同意
agreeable  adj. 令人喜悅的;同意的
The Kyoto Protocol was the first international
agreement to fight global warming.
We are all in agreement that our new boss is
very critical.
The management didnt agree with the
employees on the pay raise.
Nicole found her roommate very agreeable.
Everyone at the meeting was agreeable to the
proposal.

4.  ownership  n. [U] legal possession of
something 所有權
The hotel has changed ownership several
times over the years.

5.creation  n. [C]  something that has been made 作品;[U] the act of making something 創作 Vincent van Gogh’s creations were ignored when he was alive. In 1932, Disney received a special Academy Award for the creation of Mickey Mouse.
